Larkspur, or delphinium, is the birth flower for July. This is another flower that symbolizes love. The purple and blue flowers in particular are said to represent first love and carry with them an air of innocence. There is a Native American fable about a celestial being who created a ladder down to earth so she could visit. Each step of the ladder was a little piece of sky. When she left, the ladder was dried by the sun and scattered in the wind. Larkspur sprouted wherever the little pieces of sky landed.
Created on a 8″x8″ wood panel, this one of a kind artwork was handmade by Alecia Miller through a process of layering in the background and utilizing the transparency of the paints to achieve the light and airy feel of the final painting.
The artwork has been sealed with a protective varnish and is mounted in a black wood frame, ready to display in your home.
