This Too Shall Pass is part of my Lost Year collection. This was a group of portraits that I started painting during the pandemic in 2020 and continue to add to as seems fit. The thoughts, fears, and hopes expressed in this group are not limited to the pandemic, but certainly amplified by it.
The beginning collage layers of this series include pages from a couple of medical reference books on communicable diseases. When these books were given to me I had no idea that they would ever fit into my work. Then, Covid-19 hit and the book hoarding paid off.
This piece is 11×14 on a hardwood panel, framed in a nouveau gold wood frame.
