The holidays have been keeping me pretty busy. This week offers a break from the day job, but still plenty going on in the studio and with the family.
I did some tangling for the holidays, and played around a bit with metallic inks on black.

I’ve also been doing a lot of playing around with Renaissance tiles to help prepare for some upcoming classes. Here are a few that I pulled various elements from for the final class. I do love the tan tiles!

I hope you holiday season is going well so far, and that the New Year brings joy and well being!
Its been another busy week here with teeth, tangles, and back to school!
My little one had her first ‘official lost tooth’ come out Sunday night, just in time for the first day of school. (Her first 2 had to be pulled when the adult teeth came in behind them – the dentist said he had never seen ones with the entire root still attached like hers – they just did not want to go!) But this one wiggled its way out like normal. Yay!!!

Toothless!
Here are a couple of tiles from the facebook groups Weekly Zentangle Video (WZTV) and Square One. Last week’s Square One tangle was Windfarm, which I snuck in just under the wire.

This week’s was Yincut, which I combined with OOF, the tangle focus for the WZTV group. I really like the play of OOF and Fife next to each other, and may have to play around with those 2 a bit more.

I also did the Bright Owl Zendala challenge – a nice open zendala for us this week, so I filled with just 3 patterns, including Watusee, by Virginia Lockhart, which I had been wanting to try out.

Watusee, Chainlea, Dragonair
I hope your September has started off well! Don’t forget to follow the links above to check out how others have taken on the tangling this week.
Just a quick post to share my response to the zendala challenge from The Bright Owl. I had been wanting to do a piece with the Chainlea tangle, and this template seemed like a perfect fit.

It actually ended up reminding me of hops. Since I am not a beer drinker, I had to add Poke Root in the middle to give it a more Lambic feel. 🙂
Cheers!
