This week’s Diva Challenge comes to us from guest challenger Cari Sultanik. She is asking us to use tangles that remind us of things natural and organic. These are my favorite tangles to use, and I had just finished some prep tiles for an upcoming class where I will be focusing on organic patterns for one of the classes.
Flux, Marasu, Zinger, Sampson
Diva Dance, Poke Root, Poke Leaf
Here are a couple of others from this week:
The Weekly Zentangle Tangle Video group focused on Fengle this week.
The Square One Facebook group focused on Eye-Wa as this week’s tangle.
Eye-Wa, Srewolf, Perf
Be sure to follow the links above and check out everyone else’s work. It is always so inspiring to see all the different approaches to the same challenge!
Erin Koetz Olson at the Bright Owl Zendala Dare gave us a wonderful template this week. I had a bunch of different thoughts on how to approach it, and ended up making 2 different versions.
This first one got transferred a little off center, but I just went with it. (No mistakes in Zentangle®, right?)
Aquafluer, Printemps & more
I’d been itching to break out the Renaissance tiles that I got in Providence last month, so this zendala was the perfect excuse for that.
Onamato, BTL Joos, Tipple, Mooka, Flux
I’ve also joined a new group on Facebook – The Weekly Zentangle Tangle Video (WZTV). They select a tangle each week and then the tiles are compiled into a video slideshow by Jane Dickinson, who does a great job running the group. This week’s tangle is Verdigogh.
Verdigogh, Tagh, Diva Dance
I’d love to hear your feedback, and don’t forget to go check out all the other Zendala’s over at the Bright Owl this week.
A little late getting my tangle work up for this week, but here are a few tiles I have been working on.
First up, the Diva’s weekly challenge #224. This week she challenged us to do a monotangle using only Tipple. I started out with a zig-zag string and just went from there. Don’t forget to check out all the challenge responses from all the other tanglers!

I also spent this week trying out a few new tangles. Here is a bijou tile I did with Abundies from Hanny Waldburger. I filled in the center using Lotus Pods, from Margaret Bremner.

This last one was left from CZT20. We had been working on Paradox but had only done 2 of the triangles while at the seminar. I completed a full 6 and then decided to try out Olb after watching the new video from Helen Williams. I thought it transitioned pretty nicely from the Paradox.

Thanks for looking. Hope all of you here in the states are having a great Independence Day, and those any where else are enjoying a bit of freedom and liberty where-ever you are!
